Fundraiser role

The Fundraising Volunteer will assist KOTB Ottawa in raising funds, finding funding opportunities, contacting potential donors, applying for grants and event planning activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

In coordination with the Board, the Fundraising Volunteer will:

  • Develop and implement a coordinated fundraising program

  • Identify and research donor possibilities and grant opportunities

  • Plan for and manage fundraising events

  • Handle donor acknowledgements and thank you letters

  • Maintenance of donor matrix and fundraising records

  • Report to the KOTB Board monthly

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Good listening skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Experience in fundraising for charity organization

  • Grant experience is considered an asset

Time commitment

Average of 2-3 hours/week plus attending monthly evening Board meetings from September to June.
